Ambient lighting on after dark
When it gets dark outside and you are driving, the accent and footwell lights come on.

Outside Brightness — Outside becomes dark

Why it’s useful
Soft cabin light at night without leaving it on during the day.
How to set it up
- Open AutomationsWith the car in Park, open the App Launcher on the touchscreen and tap Automations.
- Create a new automationTap “Create an automation”.
- Set the trigger: Outside BrightnessUnder Trigger, open Environment and pick Outside Brightness. Set it to: Outside becomes dark.
- Add condition: Gear StateTap Add condition, open Drive, pick Gear State and set: Gear is Drive.
- Action 1: Accent & Footwell LightTap Add action, open Lights, pick Accent & Footwell Light and set: On.
- Name and saveName it “Night Glow”, save, and make sure its card is switched on.
- Test itTrigger it once while parked with the screen on, and check each action happened.
Menu names come from the English strings found in current firmware and may change slightly at launch. There is no way to import automations, so you build each one on the touchscreen. Full walkthrough
Limits to know
- Only on cars with ambient lighting.
- Accent & Footwell Light: Only on cars with ambient lighting.
- Automations only run while the center screen is on, and never while Autopilot or FSD is engaged.
